  1. This was my 10th birthday. Ten is a big deal in my family. I had my first coed birthday party and got a bike. I crashed said bike 4 days later and broke my arm.

    1. This was my 8th bday and I had a party with some friends at a mini golf place. Of course I went first, and so after I finish a hole, I walk over to the next tee to wait for my friends, and the first friend to finish and join me at the next hole decides he wants to try and tee off on his ball like you would with a driver. Me, being an idiot and 8, I stand about 12 ft away from him sort of diagonally from where he’s aiming, but of course the golf ball ends up right in my eye socket and I get a black eye on my bday. I’ll never forget it.

  2. Wow. This is the day I was born.. And here I am, having absolutely zero connect to Jamie or the person in the photograph, and yet I feel like it’s speaking directly to me. I’ve been wandering for awhile now if I’m on the right path, that path being to pursue music, and I feel like this is telling me to go for it… I’m probably just forcing an emotion, but I don’t know. It all feels very real. Thank you, Jamie.

  3. This was my wedding day. Both my husband and I found music as our way of standing out in large families, and the thing that set us apart from an over achieving older sibling just one step older from us.

We are also both photographers. In a time when people are snapping selfies and phone photos all day long, this entire project really speaks to me of the discipline and art that is necessary to create truly interesting work.

Thank you for sharing. I shall return to this site over and over.

  4. oh the day I was born, and how music is such an influence to my life, one that I could link to my calmness, whatever the music may be, it keeps me at ease, and keeps me feeling something.
