Stories about those days.

The stories that people have about Jamie’s photos are a source of amazement.  Some are of the “that’s me and we were doing this” type of stories from Jamie’s friends. Some are the “I never met Jamie but this was taken on my birthday and it means a lot to me. And some are just stunningly moving one of a kind stories.

Cheers mate, hang in there we’ll make it.
P.S. It makes me think of Cure’s album “pornography” too.

I was born this day as well! The VU meter is fitting as I am an audio engineer.
There’s something so human about Mr. Livingston’s work. He clearly dabbled in many different facets of art and that has had an impact on his work as a photographer. He must have had a rich, well lived life.

This was the day I was born. My mother was in labor with me all day the day before – it was Super Bowl Sunday and my mom was watching the game (both of my parents are HUGE football fans) but the nurse yelled at my dad for watching football while my mom was in labor. 18 hours went by and finally my mother went into have a C-section. I was born at 3:13am on January 30th.

This is the day that I was born. My mother’s water broke right after she had been cleaning her hardwood floors. My dad took her and my brother in the car through McDonald’s drive-thru before going to the hospital. My dad also had a broken leg in a cast so it was an awkward ride. When they got to the hospital, the staff brought out a wheelchair for him instead of her. They assured my mom “It’ll be awhile.” I was born 20 minutes later.

The text of this photo appears to be German and I got to go to Munich after finishing grad school. This day was when East and West Germany ratified reunification.

According to the internet, this is also the day that the Grateful Dead was playing at Madison Square Garden.

Just read about Jamie’s story online, what an incredible, mind-boggling thing to take a picture a day all those years. I’m stunned by his brilliance; I’m saddened by his passing. This is my birthday – 2/7/83. Just stopping by to show some love.

This is the day I was born. I really enjoy every year getting the phone call from my grandpa about this day. He is a farmer and keeps to himself, rarely shows any emotion but this story I hear every year makes me incredibly happy because still hear how proud he is.

It’s odd; I thought that I would find a very momentous photo on this day and be able to connect it with my life in some meaningful way, considering I was born on this day 20 years ago. Even though I didn’t feel or see what I thought I would have felt or seen, it was still a day in the artist’s life that he felt important enough to document. This building still holds meaning to it, and through the artist, there is a treasure.

I too turned 20 on that day. I don’t remember the day, but I do remember that month. I was preparing for cardiac ablation. It was a stressful period in my life. My family worried about paying for the surgery because we didn’t have health insurance, but I needed the procedure. It is fitting to see the Empire State as the photo for that day. A tower built during the Great Depression- a time of hopelessness, despair and anguish. However its completion boost morale. It is a symbol of perseverance. Now looking back, I too persevered; I towered over my obstacles.
