thats my birthday. R.I.P. :((

This was the day I set off on my first overseas school trip to Germany. I was 11 years old.

This photo is an uncanny representation of that trip – I wrote a journal, brought a Walkman and tried a cigarette (it was a Marlborough Light not Camel though!) in the shower rooms of the hostel for the first time in my life.

My habit didn’t last long though…after a little experimentation, I “quit” months later.

This was the day I fell off a tree and busted my thigh wide open! I was a seven year-old child in North London, UK. The tree had be unearthed during the Great Storm of 1987 (October 15-16th).

I was climbing the tree, which was in a neighbour’s garden, with two friends. I fell and lost consciousness briefly…on waking, I saw my friends pointing at my thigh with a look of horror on their faces!

I had 13 butterfly stitches that night…I think the doctor wanted to mark the fact that this occurred on Friday the 13th!

This was the day I was born.

On this day on the other side of the world I was born. And just like this photo, that day was bit busy and a bit blurry for the people around me. The balance between stillness and movement is hard to find, but that’s the beauty of life. I’m a definite fan of this work and this picture specifically as well.

I’ve always been drawn to cemeteries, tombstones… I don’t know what made it so the picture from my day of birth is related to this, but I find it very interesting and intriguing.

Also the day I was born. It’s amazing to me how many questions I can have from such a simple snap in time!

It’s crazy to think that when he was taking this picture in New York, 3,218 miles away in Glasgow I was being born. This is an insanely cool thing to be able to see and an insanely cool thing that he did.

this is the day i turned 20. i was in the army and i got taht day free for my self. had lunch wiht my parents and they got me a cd as a present. it was a compilation from obscure and hard to find songs. i felt very hopeful that day.

i was drafted to the army that day. went to play pool just a few days after graduating highschool, ended up in a military unit. it was a hard but interesting year.

graduated highschool that day. happiest day of my life.

i turned 18 that day. it sucked

i played with my highschool band in a band contest, we were sabotaged. school was bad. but from that day bullying got terrible and fistfights became a common thing. the music in me, died for quite a while, that little hopefulboy inside me…died too. everything bad in my life, sort of comes from that day. everything good sort of comes from that day. seeing those two guys just sitting there , its kind of hearing…” grow up, stop crying , move on… enjoy live”

I was born this day @ 1:43pm. This picture brings tears to my eyes. The beach is my favorite place in the world.

It was an awfully hot day in Finland, sunflowers were blooming, and my parents finally had a child after trying for many, many disappointing years. I was born late and with a c-section, but I was a healthy tiny human. I’m not tiny anymore, but I’m still always late.

this was the day i became an older sister! it’s neat to think that on the other side of the world someone else was celebrating with me.

I was born on this day, in Porirua NZ. On the other side of the world, on the exact same day you have this man, Jamie Livingston jamming on the guitar with company. There’s something about this project/photography that captivates & inspires me.
