Stories about those days.

The stories that people have about Jamie’s photos are a source of amazement.  Some are of the “that’s me and we were doing this” type of stories from Jamie’s friends. Some are the “I never met Jamie but this was taken on my birthday and it means a lot to me. And some are just stunningly moving one of a kind stories.

This is the day my sister was born… funny enough, my mom’s 20th birthday as well! As Jessica stated above, also Mother’s Day. <3 We played cats cradle all of the time when we were younger.

Thank you Jamie for giving me a memory of the day I was born that I never had.

Your work was, is and always be the next best thing to your existence and the idealistic beliefs that you had.

An inspiration to all, 20 years later..

My wedding day. Mine and my husband’s 2nd marriage and we eloped. Just the two of us and a Justice of the Peace in Dillion South Carolina. We both had two children from our previous marriages. We now have a combined total of 6 grandchildren. It’s hard work bringing two families together but we are still together. My husband is my rock! Thirty-five years and still counting. Thank you for posting these pictures. I don’t know why but found it interesting to see what a stranger was doing on a certain day.

So typical of me I posted on the wrong year! Correction I was married 8-24-82. I went and looked at the picture for that date and it looked like a wounded or dead bird. I like this picture better. Bahaha! Oh well that’s my life a little funny, a little screwy, just typical.

I was born on this day.. I’m from Liverpool in the UK and I’ve just come across this website after viewing a video on Facebook about Jamie’s story. I’m in tears at what a beautiful thing he done taking a picture every day. Each photo has its own story to tell and that’s such an incredible thing.
    Rest peacefully ❤️

My mother had gone to her doctor the morning of 11/4/1985 for a check-up since I was due to be born soon. The doctor told her “You’ll have to come back this Friday for another check-up.” My mother responded “But I don’t want to come back on Friday – it’s my birthday.” The doctor told her “Don’t worry, you’ll have this baby before then.”

    I was born that night…

The contrast in this shot is beautiful! The intense warm yellow against the black and a splash of burn orange… what a beautiful composition of hues that the polaroid camera has captured!
    Stunning!

This was my 19th birthday and my 2nd year of college was about to begin. My whole life changed approximately 9 months later when our beautiful son was born. His dad and me have been together 41 years and he has 2 great siblings. Btw he is a doctor!

I lost my fiancé to Osteosarcoma (bone cancer) on February 6th, 2007. She was 24. Months earlier, we had put a quarter into a grocery store vending machine, and got a little tin ring from it. My fiancé, Jamey (ironically?), never took it off. When we wanted to get rings to have a small ceremony, she told me, “I already have my ring.” She passed before we ever got the chance at the ceremony. She was buried with that little tin ring still on her finger. Thank you so much for sharing these photos. Though the last ones are painful for me to look at, they also bring a comforting warmth as her memory comes over me.

I know it’s popular to look up your birthday to see what picture was taken. Even if it is self serving, it is cool to see the people eating cake on this Birthday as it is mine and also other who have posted. This project has always fascinated me because it speaks of solidarity, loneliness and love.
