This was the day of my birthday. Born in Tampa.

I was born on this day and year. It was Good Friday, which for those who arent Catholic or Lutheran raised is two days before Easter. I really love that this photo contains snow, because it captures how capricious spring can be.

I graduated college in June of 1985 in New York. This picture reminds me of my fellow fresh-faced graduates looking toward the sun and thinking about the beautiful possibilities that lie ahead. Also, my mom who passed away 2 years ago, was there to celebrate. She used to say “flowers speak the language of the universe” and painted the most whimsical flower watercolors in her later years. I love this photograph, and I love and miss her. <3

This is this day I was born

The morning of Cinco de Mayo 1989, this day I lost my virginity to my best friend and true love.. We were together over 27 years. I like all the points of interest in this picture. He looks comfortable and uncomfortable at the same time and maybe about to spend some plastic money over the phone. Did he need more film and suplies? Was there a duspute? Maybe its for somthing good or fun for later on – but costs dear….

I also came on here to find out the photo of my birthday to find that I’m a ‘top banana’ – something my dad always calls me. 💙

My birthday. It’s crazy how this picture describes my life. It has a cat in it which is my favorite animal and the picture is simples. Simples just like myself.

I am so glad I stumbled upon a video on Facebook about this amazing life. I don’t want to use the term work because it wasn’t, it was life. I was born on this day. I had some troubles as a young man. Drugs and alcohol. I found a muse through art to keep me off those things along with my children. I keep my hands moving when I am drawing, letting go of the troubles of the day and diving into a realm of my imagination. I have 3 children now and I show them everyday why it is important to be a human and not just a statistic. I searched through many of these pictures. Some made me laugh, some made me smile, and others made me cry. This is art, this is life.

This was the day I was born.

This was the day that I had what would be my last child. Labor was induced due to the placenta was detaching and my baby was being deprived of oxygen, his lifeline to me was being strangled. I was unaware of this at the time, everyone thinking it best to spare me the anxiety and the added stress to the baby.
So blessed to be given a happy ending, and so very, very thankful that every tiny thing about him was perfect….and he still is, at least to me. He will be married this fall to his highschool sweetheart, a lovely girl, and they will continue on the path to their own happy endings…
…So the blessing will continue to come, even as we work through the harder times that life brings.
At least that is what I was reminded of when I read about this artist, and why I think these photos are deeply touching for so many. It helps us to remember to have a grateful spirit and to look for blessings every day…

This is the day my parents got married

This is the day I was born. 3:45am and almost two months premature. I grew up to love dogs. This picture is so perfect for me it’s as if it were ordained. What a wonderful and rare talent this gentleman had. I am sure he is sorely missed.
