Stories about those days.

The stories that people have about Jamie’s photos are a source of amazement.  Some are of the “that’s me and we were doing this” type of stories from Jamie’s friends. Some are the “I never met Jamie but this was taken on my birthday and it means a lot to me. And some are just stunningly moving one of a kind stories.

This was the day I was born. Interestingly the male in this picture Is wearing the most similar glasses that my father wore. I never knew my father without those glasses. Cool pic. Love it. To think what someone else was doing on the day I was born in Australia, a country far away. This man was standing out the front of a restaurant having his pic taken. 26 years ago.

I was born on this day. And just over 8 months later he passed away. That means in just over 4 months he’ll have been gone 20 years. But here his pictures still live on.

My Birthday, day and year. So weird to see that the day I was born, my mom in the hospital, he was in the hospital for something of his own. I always think of people living their own lives and everyone having their own stories, but this really makes it real. What a beautiful project.

Thank you for that perspective, I might even wonder if I am that selfish for not seeing the relation of my mom and the hospital. I was more considerate towards my own future and demise. You truley turned a soar moment into an opifiny Rochelle, and I thank you. <3

My 8th birthday. The classrooms were fun when they use to be like this. No new technology like cell phones and no computers. This is when the teachers were actually committed to doing what they loved and cared about their students.

You were able to take pictures of the events that are now in our history books. You were YEARS beyond your time.. and far too soon. You were so avant-garde during you time, I would have loved to see what big project you would be part of if you were here today. Oh you would love Instagram!

Seems fitting. I was born Jan 19 1972 and in 1980 there was nothing I loved to do more than skate. I’d collect bottles, wash cars and beg for money just to go skating. Thanks. This is brilliant.

This was the day my mother died.
    She was 46. I was 18.
The world stopped for me that day.
This picture is so lovely because it captures the beauty of life and love and laughter. A moment of pure joy shared among two people lives on for other to see and enjoy. This picture is a reminder that the world did not in fact stop that day, that the cycle of life and death continues. This picture is a reminder to us all to enjoy each and every moment that we have on this earth.
My mom would have liked this photo.
Thank you Jamie, and say hi to mom up there for me!
