This is the day I was born. My twin sister and I arrived about 6 weeks earlier than planned- ringing in the New Year in style. My siblings and I were all natural births, everyone until my twin. Cass had her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck and my mom needed an emergency c-section for her to live.
Cass and I haven’t always been the best of friends or the worst of enemies but she’s my wombmate. We share a love of music and movies and occasionally clothing.
Thanks for sharing these photos. It’s always interesting to me to see the world through other peoples eyes.

Wasn’t there a bad blizzard this year too my mother always tells the story of the time she was stuck at the hospital with me or was that a few years later?

I was also born on this day! Really interesting to see someone living an ordinary life on what is the most importnant day essentially of mine. It’s beautiful.

Finland here. On Jan 13th 1982 I was born with a faulty heart. 11 years later, having nearly four from it, I was cured with an 8-hour long open-heart surgery. I’m still here, having survived my heart, a cancer, and many other health problems. I wish Jamie was here with us, too.

This was the day I was born, sad to see that as life comes into the world there are signs of it leaving.

For me, it was my father’s last day. I think the candle is most fitting in both case.
