I was born on this day, on a small, sub-tropical, remote island near mainland Japan (Hachijo Island). I look back at the pictures of my out-of-the-box, slightly hippy, ex-full-time-traveller parents around this time and I can sense something similar. Although, my parents weren’t musicians, I was brought up around a lot of music. Beatles, Gypsy Kings, Pink Floyd, Dave Brubeck, etc. And I’m now a musician, living in a musically vibrant city (Bristol, UK). How this picture shows him playing music to himself, for his own peace’s sake really resonates with me. Beautiful!
