On this day, only two hours after Halloween ended, under a full moon, I was born. Today, I found this site thanks to a video on FB and I’m so glad I did. I’m grateful his friends put these up.

On this day I was born. I like that he was going through records and tapes. It’s funny because my mom didn’t like my taste in music and I was a late teen before I had the money to buy music for myself. I used to make mixed tapes off the radio just to get the songs I liked. My first tape I bought was Green Day. Now as an adult I have ample music subscription and I’m never without music I like but my passion is reading and science.

Why is this picture identical to the next one? Is it how it was intended? Are they two different photos in fact, recreated meticulously? (Would that even be possible, with Polaroid?) Is that the only case of missing/misplaced/mysteriously repeating pictures?
And why does my birthday have to look like this? A weird photograph, not something bright and fun and easily classy I could have shared online to enjoy a small surge of attention. Polaroids are trendy now, but dark and odd pictures like this are among the reasons behind the bulky momentary camera’s decline. Once you make it you cannot unmake it; once you take it you cannot give it back. Polaroids are eternal. Polaroids are ephemeral. If you cut a Polaroid photograph it leaks and smudges. Its mystical chemical integrity breached, it is destroyed.
A strange man. A question mark. A mirror, a kitchen – seems to sum up my life attitude. And pajama pants exactly like those I’m wearing right now as I’m writing this, a story of a picture that may or may not have been made on my birthday. Even here, on the picture project I accidentally stumbled upon and likely will forget about in a day or two, I cannot be free of doubts.

My best friend was born this day. We have known each other 26 years.

My parents married on this day in Hawaii. At the time they lived in California. They are still together. I am their only child.

The day of my birth. I arrived almost a month early and surprised my parents. My CPA father got a kick out of the fact that my given initials were SEC and I was an unanticipated tax credit.

The day my husband was born. He works for a health insurance company and we are building a family.

My best friend, and I, both born on this day. I’d like to think these two are friends in the photo; their mischievous grins seem almost familiar.

This is the day I was born. I was three weeks late, and wasn’t breathing. It’s a miracle I’m here. These photos are amazing, thank you for preserving them and this man’s legacy.

This was the day I came into the world. The picture is very fitting. I also think its neat, all these years I thought I was born on a Thursday but no, it was a Friday; my favorite day of the week.

I was born on this day and 21 also. As a budding filmographer and photographer he has influenced me greatly. His work is beautiful and honest.

This was the day I was born. My grandfather died just days before and I ended up coming into this world on the day of his funeral. My boyfriend and his twin sister have the same birthday as he did.

This was my 16th birthday. My mom threw me a surprise party in the park, and it was the only birthday I’d had up to that point where it didn’t rain. Tiny miracles.

Staring into the mirror behind a reception desk.
He didn’t smile.
His eyes just looked straight ahead,

He didn’t know your name.
He didn’t know that that day, you were taking your first breath

While he watched the ink dry on his polaroid picture.
And you didn’t know him.
But one day, many years after he had died and you had grown up,

On a site that hadn’t been invented yet on that day you were born.
Through a phone that didn’t exist.
Using an internet that almost nobody knew of.

The day before he died was my 13th birthday. It really puts things in perspective. Jamie was an editor, and I am an editor. I don’t know what else to really say, other than he literally cherished every moment of his life. Thank you for sharing, Jamie.

On this day at 10 o’ clock I was born. You feel so small when you realise that the day you were born, seeing for the first time the world, someone on the other side of the world was suffering from cancer, but enjoying his last days with his friends. Your story is just one of over 7.5 billion and although every single one is unique. You and what you do, make the world’s history complete and this man captured his life in some wonderful photos which show the good and bad sides of everybody’s life. This man did great work and shared his own personal story with everybody, this is just amazing.

Very interesting. On this day over 20 years ago, I was born far far away from this magical city, on a fantastical island called Cuba, while a man was reading about tricky old Bill in the paper. The serendipity of life!
