I know we tend to look for connections. For me, I just came from viewing my husband’s birthday photo (4-02-1982) where the color that stands out is red. Red is his favorite color. The man in here is wearing blue and that’s my favorite color. Cool(:

This day I gave birth to my second son. I had a very difficult labor….almost died due to lose of blood. I had to have an emergency hysterectomy. 21years later my son is one of my greatest joys!

I too was having a baby on this day! My oldest son! One of the best days of my life! Had many joys & heartaches along the way but such memories!

My name is Sarah. January 14th 1982 is my birthday. I was born at 4:20 AM in a blizzard at my parents house, in the bathroom. My mother had what’s called spontaneous birth. You dilate fully before having any pain so I was born in less than 5 minutes of labor. I also had my cord around my neck. The doctor said that I would have died had my mother’s labor not been so fast because the cord would have strangled me….sooooo….I’m kind of a big deal. At least I was that day.

On this day, thousands of miles away, in a medical tent at a hilltop army barracks, I was born. That was in Nakuru, Kenya. I now live in Manhattan. I have no photos of that day, so I always enjoy seeing what people were doing. Thank you Jamie and Hugh!

I was sitting here in central Iowa when this wonderful story of Jamie came into my feed. I was shocked to hear the last name Livingston as his own. I too am a Livingston so like so many others I was interested to see the picture Jamie had taken on my birthday 09-05-1987 but there isn’t one. I am just curious if one might exist and I wonder if in some way we may be related although I’m sure there would be a very slim chance of that since the Livingston part of my family is from the mid west.

This was taken the day I was born, and I loved this photo even before i realized the date it was taken. Beautiful and kind of mysterious. It was the person hiding behind the flowers, with only their gaze towards the camera that caught my eye at first. Lovely color contrasts as well, this composition in general is very balanced and creates a feeling of intimacy that is almost bittersweet.

And Pearl came into the world this fine day.
