Stories about those days.

The stories that people have about Jamie’s photos are a source of amazement.  Some are of the “that’s me and we were doing this” type of stories from Jamie’s friends. Some are the “I never met Jamie but this was taken on my birthday and it means a lot to me. And some are just stunningly moving one of a kind stories.

Today is the day I turned 18. I cried with my mum, a little, that day, because I felt lost and unready to become an adult. This image… fits that emotion. I had the outer shape of an adult, but hadn’t yet filled in the inner blanks defining and describing who that individual would be.

I was born this day. I can say my life is been good so far. A few days ago, my grandmother passed away. A stomach cancer took her. My mother also had breast cancer, and survived with no scars apart from the psicological ones. I find this pictures really inspiring, for our day a day lives, and for whenever we get caught by the future.

This photo really explains a lot to my life….My birthday of course… I’m a chef at heart.its in a kitchen…Love coffee, love new shoes, looks like a pack of rolling papers next to coffee cup…( Love that stuff also) usually feel like I’m a blur to most ppl around me daily In life..(hence the blurred person in the background) my kitchen cabinets are always open…Not only literally but figuratively as well meaning I feed all that come into my kitchen.. and not to mention I feel like I kind look like the person showing off his shoes..I smile like that and may possibly have a recentinding hairline like him too…..I was really moved by the storyline on Facebook and hope others feel moved by your friends lifelong work….Ihave more to say about the photo pertaining to my life….. but man …does it go deep for me….Thanks for sharing I’m happy to have come across such great karma today….

This day in 1984 was my 10th birthday. I had a birthday party at my house, where my friends and I danced to Billy Joel’s uptown girl and we ate chocolate cake with cool whip and chocolate sprinkles.

My mother was born on 12-18-1954. Although you don’t have that date in a Polaroid, or the date she died. I figured I would come to the first polaroid of December 18 and write a comment. My mother was diagnosed with stage 4a colon cancer on January 11, 2013. She died on November 24, 2016. Thanksgiving day. She was only a few weeks shy of living for 4 years with her diagnosis. I’m sorry Mr. Livingston died of cancer! My mom did also 😥

This photo was taken on the day I was born. I love photography and wish that these polaroids were still around. Its often difficult for people to capture a truly genuine photo in the digital age when you can instantly see what the photo is and simply delete it and take another one until you’re happy with the result.

My daughter was born on this day at like 1:50 in the morn. She was supposed to be born on the 16th and she just missed it! She’s a beautiful young woman now and she moved out last Aug. to another state and I haven’t seen her since she left I miss her soooo much! I know she has her own life now but I wish she would move back here closer to me and her brother. I love her so much!

I’ve been divorced since 2008 and I can honestly say I sort of stopped living that year and haven’t really done anything since so I have really wasted a lot of years. I didn’t have a great childhood I was neglected a lot as a small child and we never had much. When I left home at 22 I knew I would have to work hard to have a good life and I did just that. My husband and I started our own business and we did great but a few years after he did something that totally ruined everything and I lost all respect for him. I had worked SO hard to get that business going and worked like a man to make it successful so I guess at that point in my life I kind of just gave up, I had been through too much, I just threw my hands up. My first husband cheated on me when our 2 children were only 2 and 3 years old. With my 2nd husband I really loved him and felt he loved me but he just didn’t appreciate all we had and all the hard work we put in to it as much as I did. It wasn’t an affair, It’s too long of a story to go into. I feel like I’m too old at this point in my life to meet someone else and honestly I don’t have the energy. I’ve wasted almost 9 years of my life. I’ve had a lot of very bad depression but at least I can get out of bed everyday now.

That’s awesome Poppy! I was 33 years old & 7 mos.pregnant with my 2nd child the summer of ’93, my baby boy was 17 mos. old at the time in hot Texas! I didn’t know that I was having a girl at this time because I always let nature takes it’s place and never found out before hand what sex my child would be, you’re not supposed to know!

On this day I gave birth to my first child, a son, he is almost 25 years old and it was one of the best days of my life. He was almost 3 wks over due before the Dr. finally decided to induce me and he put me through the worst pain imaginable not allowing me to get an epidural until almost time to push! His umbilical cord was wrapped around his shoulder and his breathing was compromised and the Dr. had to cut me and pull my baby out with forceps. I had 42 stitches and had to use a “donut” pillow to sit on for weeks. Obviously should have been a C-section that Dr. was not with it, something was wrong with him to make me and my baby suffer like that.
