My mother saved my life this day my first birthday I choked on a balloon if she had walked out for a moment or panicked I wouldn’t be here today

This was the day I was born, in Nampa Idaho. A few days earlier, my father had been struck by lighting while working on the other side of the state. After a long journey, both in distance and physically, he finally made it home just in time for my birth. This photo reminds me of my mother standing at the bus stop waiting for him to meet her so they could go to the hospital.

Ah that Sunday! There was a light rain that day, here in Maryland anyway. I was born this day, after an interesting turn of events including a pregnant lady, a friend and a hilarious set of shenanigans involving throwing pebbles at a window of a scantily clad man in a cowboy hat… and hours later at 1:15PM here I was. It appears our friend Jaime attended a wedding this day. What two joyous occasions!

This was the day I was born. There was a huge ice storm in GA, so my grandparents couldn’t be at the hospital to welcome me. My father called to let them know that I had been born safely. He told them I weighed 19 lbs and was 7 inches long 😂.

I was also born on July 1st…I arrived to the work today, and first thing that I saw was video about Jamie Livingston. Such an inspiring and sad story, but I love the fact that he’s work is still living on this page!

On this day I was born, in a communist country. My mother almost died becuase she was refused the c- section required to birth me; it wasn’t until her belly button ripped and began to bleed that they performed a c-section.

This is the day I was born. I love water. Wether it be in a pool or in a river or pond. Swimming has always been my most favorite activity.

I also am somewhat of a photographer. I didn’t find out until I had been taking photos for a few years, and many after he had passed, but my Grandfather Latta often carried a camera in his “younger” years. After he passed we found some of his old photos and a box of his negatives. It makes me a little sad that I was never able to share that hobby with him. On the other hand it makes me happy to have that connection.
