Stories about those days.

The stories that people have about Jamie’s photos are a source of amazement. Β Some are of the “that’s me and we were doing this” type of stories from Jamie’s friends. Some are the “I never met Jamie but this was taken on my birthday and it means a lot to me. And some are just stunningly moving one of a kind stories.

This was taken on my 7th birthday. My father passed away at 42 from a heart attack just a few months later. He had been to the hospital several times around this period complaining of chest pains, but doctors told him he was fine. Thank you so much for sharing these images. It is a truly beautiful thing to see what others are doing on days which are significant to you, and this image expresses the sense of foreboding I experienced at the time. Bless you for sharing Jamie’s art with us.

On this day, my little bro was born. I was only six years old when he came into this world. One day my mom asked me if I ever wanted a sibling and I said yes. I specifically asked for a brother and wa-lab! Even though I have no communication at this moment with my brother, I know he is doing good things in life. He is in the Navy, living in Hawaii as we speak. This photo will always make me remember of my little brother.

This was my 21st birthday, and I had just recently finished my Associates Degree from MATC. I had also taken photography and multimedia and graduated with an AS in Computer Graphics/Visual Communication. It is inspiring to see these photos – I wish I had a Polaroid camera. The last time I used one was while working at the 440th Airlift Wing, AFRC taking Polaroid head-shots for ID cards as a DOD Civilian GS-04. On this night, the 20th, I fell down: my first time dancing at a club, and broke my ankle. It was the first time I’d been drunk, & the first time I had a “strawberry shortcake drink” too. I like this candid photo in particular because of its honesty. It was a big day for me too.

    This is my birthday..
I Rencently saw your story on Facebook..
It reminded me how beautiful life is and that it is also fleeting.
I met the love of my life about two years ago and plan to marry this year.
I can’t wait to wake up to her every morning.
I’ve had couple near death experiences and know how precious life is.
Time is something we all feel we have a lot of.
My only wish is that if I should leave this earth..
It’s on a morning where I see her smile one more time..

Thanx Jamie.. You were truly a richman.

    P.s. Sweet chairs man

Found link thru FB. This picture was taken the day my mom died. As my little girl and wife sleep on a cold day today, I see this pic and it’s awesome to see the smiles. Especially the smile from the older lady who is around my mom’s age at time of picture. She instantly brought tons of meteorites back. So thanks for honoring Jamie, because his picture and this site brought a smile and a happy tear, or two, to just a knucklehead fireman missing his mom and thankful for his family today. I was 21 when she passed. — Cheers!

This was the day I married my beautiful wife. One year to the day after our first date. We were so young. Her, 19, me just barely 21. It was sunny and warm in Monroe, Washington. We went to the mall together. I bought her a snowboard. We got lost and showed up late. Being late is our thing now.
We just celebrated 20 years together as husband and wife. I took her back to the exact spot we were married in October. The place is being torn down to build condos. The trees were overgrown, homeless people camp there. We wandered through the trees and found the stone steps near the waterfall where we stood twenty years before. I gave her a Fire Opal ring and asked her to stay with me for another 20 years. Then I climbed the empty waterfall to tear down a swastika sign so we could take a picture.

My son Daniel was born on this day. He was my first and I was only 17. He is 29 now and has 4 younger sisters. That day was a life changer for me, and it was time I had to grow up as I was told I was always living “life in the fast lane.” With all my kids grown up I am taking up photography, a long dream of mine. I came this page looking for the photo from September 20. That’s the day my 6 year old brother (I was seven at the time) was hit by a car and killed. It seems weirdly appropriate that there is no photo in this collection from that day. So I decided to write my story on this one, because this was the last day my brother was alive and our family was whole. I don’t remember what we did on this day, but I’m sure we were happy because we were all together.

My 8th birthday. My family had just moved to a new town on June 1st and my dad had to be gone right away for a business trip. We didn’t know anybody and I hadn’t made my friends yet, so my mom and I spent my birthday exploring our new town and finding fun stuff to do.

The day of my first date with Kevin. We were high school sweethearts and later got married. The marriage lasted almost five years. Our divorce was final on February 11, 2004 – ten years to the day. I spent exactly ten years of my life with that person.
