Twenty years later on this day, my ex-boyfriend will break my heart. I was 5 at the time of this photo. How crazy it seems. Time goes by so fast.

My birthday. I love this photograph. It looks painful in a way. His facial expression looks sad or alone. I’ve always felt alone on my birthday. At the end of the day I would often wish to redo the day. Maybe that is what he is thinking about.
