Stories about those days.

The stories that people have about Jamie’s photos are a source of amazement.  Some are of the “that’s me and we were doing this” type of stories from Jamie’s friends. Some are the “I never met Jamie but this was taken on my birthday and it means a lot to me. And some are just stunningly moving one of a kind stories.

This is the day I was born. I was born in a tiny Amish-centric town north-central Indiana during a blizzard. My uncle drove through the blizzard to meet me. He arrived a lot later than visiting hours, so my dad snuck him in so he could see me (he’s always been my favorite uncle).
I grew up in a bigger town, and was fully involved in the local artistic community. I’ve been in theatre productions, low-budget movies, many bands, photography projects… and now my husband and I are full-time musicians that travel around the world. I’m forever thankful to my parents and local community for being so supportive and helping shape me into who I am today.
This project is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

I share my birthday with my uncle… Sadly he committed suicide, looking at these photos makes you realise just how lucky you are even if it’s waking up in the morning or seeing your children take their first steps… We should never take things for granted because when we do it makes us careless and there are people in this world worst of than you! Make everyday count every minute, every second of the day, my uncle felt like he didn’t have a way out but maybe if we were nicer to people and had more respect for the human race then maybe just maybe he would still be here with me today! People say God takes the good but leaves the bad to suffer but in reality God is taking away someone’s brother/sister, uncle/auntie, Nan/mum, grandad/dad… Family is everything so don’t take them for granted love and respect your parents because you only get one mum and dad! I lost my mum at the age of 9 and I’ve see how people talk and treat their mum! I would give anything just to hear her voice or just to give her hug or for her to hug me and tell me everything’s gunna be okaay! Please respect your parents!

This is the day my girlfriend was born. We wouldn’t meet until we were both adults, and then we wouldn’t meet again for years after that. I constantly thank the stars that I got a second chance to know her. I’d be missing a huge piece of happiness without her in my life.

That evening, half a country away, in Russellville Arkansass, after a week of labour, dilated to 8cm and despite her best efforts unable to progress, Carol Ezell was prepped for a caesarean. At 7:20, Sarah (Ezell) Gale was delivered. 9 lb and 10 oz. She was three weeks overdue and has always suspected that her original due date, July 4th, would have been a worse birthday to have.

My wedding day. Mine and my husband’s 2nd marriage and we eloped. Just the two of us and a Justice of the Peace in Dillion South Carolina. We both had two children from our previous marriages. We now have a combined total of 6 grandchildren. It’s hard work bringing two families together but we are still together. My husband is my rock! Thirty-five years and still counting. Thank you for posting these pictures. I don’t know why but found it interesting to see what a stranger was doing on a certain day.

So typical of me I posted on the wrong year! Correction I was married 8-24-82. I went and looked at the picture for that date and it looked like a wounded or dead bird. I like this picture better. Bahaha! Oh well that’s my life a little funny, a little screwy, just typical.
