The stories that people have about Jamie’s photos are a source of amazement. Some are of the “that’s me and we were doing this” type of stories from Jamie’s friends. This was the day I was born. At just after midnight, across the street from Disneyland in California at a birthing clinic, my father stood at the window watching the fireworks go off while my mother lay in bed with contractions. He turned to my mother and said, “Honey, you should see this!”

Her reply?

“I’m a little busy right now.”

Came for an insightful photo of the human experience taken on the day I was born… got squiggles and what’s probably an inside joke lost to time. At first i was disappointed. But then i remembered we all have our inside jokes with our people and some make more sense than others. Typical for me, though. Jamie seemed a good person who knew how to really live and love life. This is a real treasure.

This was the day I was born, but in Melbourne Australia, middle of winter. I was told that it was one of the coldest days Melbourne had ever had. My mum almost died this day. The date seems so insignificant seeing what others were doing, as it was just like any other day for some. It’s intriguing
