This is my birthday. I was born this very day. Today I’m 24 years old and I Iive in Charleston, SC with my girlfriend. Seeing this photo is amazing. It’s nice to remember life goes on, no matter the point in time. To this young woman it was just another day, but to me it was my very first.

The 20 year mark of my mom’s passing … Death is so hard and now finding these photos makes me realize that there is so much pain in our world. I hope I can make people laugh and smile as much as possible. Remember to love when others hate.

This was my 39th Birthday we had just began fostering our daughter. She wouldn’t be ours until 1998 but it was a journey that I would do all over again. My 39th year was special because my mom was 39 for as long as I knew her… Every birthday for her was always her 39th. She died when I was 19. I think of her everyday.
