Turned 22. 2 months before honorable discharge from Navy. Stayed in New London for couple of days after discharge. Was flying home to Georgia and stopped over in New York on the way. John Lennon shot that night.

I turned 21 on this day. I was in New London, Conn. Went to a club called The Bach Dor. Saw a band named “Canyon”. Still have the recording of the sets that night. Was with my friend Ron Arnold from Louisiana. We were shipmates. USS Fulton (AS-11) stationed at the Conn. State Pier. Thanks for the picture. DKS

I was born early in the morning on this day. Jamie’s story brought tears to my eyes and shudders to my breath, but it makes me smile to see these two children having such a great time at the same time that I was being swaddled, snipped and prepared for the world I was brought into. March 30, 1991 – My 18th birthday.

It was actually the night of the 30th when we heard Princess Diana had died, it was just after my 29th birthday and I was out with friends partying. I remember seeing it on tv at a bar and we were all so stunned that she had passed and how she had died. A surreal moment for me…

this day was my birthday, but to Jamie it was an opportunity to capture someone playing an instrument. this whole project just put everything into perspective the idea that something is always happening, someone is being born, or someone is playing an instrument surrounded by the things & people they love. this amazes me.
