I was in the Army on this day at Ft. Bliss when the war started. It was an eerie day being 19 and justifying having to take another humans life. Luckily for me I never had to. Peace to anyone who has.
This was my 21st birthday. A day that should’ve been joyful, but was somber and frightening instead. At that time, we hadn’t been in a war since Vietnam. Now it seems like we’ve been at war every day since.
