1986 was going to be my year! Big plans for turning 18, graduating, and living a carefree, wanderlust life! However, as I was to find out, fate was to intervene.

I was 18, pregnant, a newlywed, and after today, a high school graduate. Receiving that diploma and leaving high school was, hands down, the happiest event of my life, up to that point.

I was born on this day and I love pictures. This photo seems fitting.

I was 18, a senior in high school, and pregnant. On this day, I married the father of my unborn child. It was a big, beautiful wedding…and I was way too young to be doing this.

I had turned 18 on February 20th, after just learning I was pregnant. My healthy baby boy was born on this day, September 24th, 1986. It was a beautiful Indian summer day in Ohio.

It makes me happy that he got to enjoy this, in person no less!

My 18th birthday. I had found out I was pregnant just two weeks before, and was sad because 18 wasn’t going to be as carefree as I’d hoped.

This is my birthday. On this day my mother has just finished unpacking boxes and setting up a crib in a small apartment in Buffalo, NY. She was just settling down to relax and enjoy the last month before her baby was due. I decided to arrive early though and her water broke.

My birthday. I turned 30 this year. I hope to have legacy as wonderful as this one day.

I don’t know why, but this really brings a smile to my face. Like plenty of others, this is the day I was born — and obviously, like others just born, I don’t remember it. But this is nice. Maybe it’s because I tend to be a gloomy person, but I always imagined it was rainy when I was born. Maybe it was, here where I am, but looking at this… it’s nice to actually see that day. Maybe it wasn’t so rainy. Maybe it was bright and sunny. I dunno. It makes me wonder if perhaps I should try to look at things in a more sunny way. It’s a nice reminder.

My 19th Birthday, thought I had life figured out as an adult, completely lost!

This is my birthday and it’s crazy I’ll be 21 this year. Jamie was an amazing artist and will live on forever through these photos.

I was born on this February 17, 1989 at 3am. It fascinates me to see how comical and beautiful the day may have been for the photographer.

The day we lost an amazing photographer. Before today, I had never heard of him and now I feel as if I’ve known him forever. The way his photography portrays a simple life, how beautiful it can be but also how painful, he went through an amazing fight and yet never forgot about his passion, remained taking photos of things that he cared about, he treasured everything. This project truly is a piece of art and I am delighted to have seen it.

I wasn’t born in this year, however I would be 5 years later. I love the way they are rollerblading, it’s something I’ve always enjoyed doing and they appear to be having fun, I wonder what time it was, where they were.

I was born at St. Barnabus Hospital in Livingston, NJ. Probably right around the time this photo was taken.

This was the day my son was born. I was 2 weeks past my due date on Thursday, 9/28/95 and was induced that day. But my baby decided to make me wait 2 more days.
It was raining that Saturday – an early Autumn day. I was exhausted from my labor and between contractions would turn my head to look out the window at the rain-soaked scene. I could see 2 young maple trees, I think, with leaves if gold.
It was a beautiful day, the day my boy, Chris arrived.

This is the day I graduated from high school. It was hot & humid. Those graduation robes made it all the more sticky. We were honored & called by name to cross the stage one-by-one. I love this photo, as it represents how we left A ceremony to enjoy separate, private time and take our leave of one another.
