As a photographer myself, all of these polaroids naturally astonished me. They’re raw and stunning. I’m even more bewildered now that I realize the photographer passed away the day before I was born in 1997. To Hugh and the creator of this website, thank you for sharing these photos with us. I hope to carry a part of your artistic spirit with me as I try to capture the world as you did.

This was the day I was born. It was also Mother’s Day that year, along with being my mothers birthday! I look at this picture and feel how appropriate it is since so much in my short life was tangled together that day.

In a couple of weeks it will be thirty one years since this day. I was born on this day at Saint Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham Alabama. My mom actually went in the night before but it was a long labor that lasted thru the night into the next day and almost into the next night. I love photos. All photos. The good, the bad, the ugly, they all have a story to tell. They capture a moment in time that might mean nothing to anyone else but they mean the world to the eye in the lens. See the world. Or at least see the world around you.

This is the day that I was born. This picture feels comforting for some reason? Which is very weird.

I was born on this day also!

I turned 16 on this day. I got to take a sleigh ride in the mountains of Colorado with my family. We were there for a spring-break ski trip.

This was my 20th birthday. I was in Atlanta for spring break with a group of my college friends. I wasn’t able to be with my family, who lived in Houston.

It’s just a simple story: this day I was born. And so the story began.

I had just seen the video on facebook about Jamie Livingston and being a photographer myself I loved this photo. And to find a moment in each day where it’s the picture he felt he should take is inspiring. What an idol to have. I chose to look at this picture because I was born on March 1st, 1993. And I love this photo. It’s rustic, it’s expression, it’s his cigarette, it’s that fur coat too lol. I can’t wait to go through all of is photos. A Truly Amazing Individual!

I wasn’t born until 1999 and my boyfriend wasn’t born until December of 1997 so finding our birthdays was impossible. So I decided to find our anniversary 20 years before it happened for the heck of it. We first met in our high school’s production crew and this picture reminds me a lot of that because of what the people are doing in the picture itself.
