Stories about those days.

The stories that people have about Jamie’s photos are a source of amazement.  Some are of the “that’s me and we were doing this” type of stories from Jamie’s friends. Some are the “I never met Jamie but this was taken on my birthday and it means a lot to me. And some are just stunningly moving one of a kind stories.

My mom went into the hospital and was induced on this date, she went thru 12+ hrs of labor and she ended up with a C section after midnight. So I was born 10/10, but there was no picture on that day. I wonder what Jamie was up to on 10/10/79.

I was also born on this day, 7:30 PM. How fascinating it is to find this photo of Jamie and his medications, now that I’m a (young) doctor. Rest in peace, Jamie! Beautiful, raw photos.

This was an extremely special, important and miraculous day! At 1:01 am I gave birth to the most amazing human being that has ever lived!. My son Clay. He was an amazing child, very loving young man, and an even better grown man. I feel so very lucky to have been given the opportunity to be his mother. To feel him grow next to my heart, and to watch him grow as a wonderful person. He is so tender hearted, so kind and gentle. He thinks about others, so much more often than himself. A mother couldn’t be more proud. He is the light in my dark world. If not for him I would not be here. I am so thankful for him everyday.

I was born on this day. I’m from Australia and this day also happened to be Mother’s Day that year. It’s seems fitting that this photo is of a woman. I hope she is a mother.

It’s funny! This is the photo that was taken in the day I was born, and some things here, speak to me:

The fact that this was during summer, and day by day, I’m being more in love with the hot heather, and also, the water, this is for sure my element (even though I’m a virgo, and virgo is a earth sign), I feel free once I’m at the sea, like if I’m connected to the places I want to go, and live onde day! And last! The fun!! They look so happy and free in this picture. This made me pretty happy to look at! Thanks for keeping his work alive, and thank’s to him, for doing it!

    Xx

The day i was born. It makes me feel quite wierd, these two things happening at the same time in two opposite corners of the world (i’m from Argentina). I know things happen simultaneously all over the world all the time, but to stop and really think about it gives a really peculiar feeling.

June 19, 1994. I was born at 10:30 am with my mom crying because she was so scared that she might lose me like she did her first pregnancy. Sobbing and happy to see me alive, she started caressing me calling me her little angel. She decided that would be my name. My favorite moments in life are with my friends catching up on lost time, eating out and making a simple moment a memorable one taking a picture of things in front us. Going to the movies in our pijamas and laughing at our unfortunate moments in life. I miss Jaime even though I never met him, having him capture a moment of the day I was born, seeing that someone else was also sharing a moment that would live in this picture.

At the time of this photo I was being born in a tiny town called Fishersville in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Now, I am 21 and looking at this photo with such great nostalgia. It feels as if I was there. It reminds me of a better time that I can’t even remember. When I showed my fiancé this photo he said “Wow! That looks so much like you!” and part of me can’t help but wonder if part of me is in this photo too.

Is it weird that when I looked at this photo, I felt like that they were rejoicing of my birth? Lol. I just wished that you were still alive so that there is someone out there who can show us the glimpse of the little things in life. We tend to overlook those especially nowadays. So much love Mr. Livingston! 😊😊

Jamie’s story is incredibly inspiring. The depth of passion he collected in merely taking photos of everyday life. An absolutely astonishing modern work of art spanning 2 decades.
Even this photo from the date of my birth, albeit 1000 miles away, resonates with a sense of emotion and meaning. A self reflection within the single confection nestled upon the glimmering sheet. The last and most precious of its kind for the day ready to be served and satisfy all expectation in delight.
I have viewed hundreds ofthesephotos and each is a unique masterpiece.
The world has missed and is lacking without Jamie’s perspective and appreciation of the everyday.
Thank you for your time and art.
The beauty you captured has been shared a thousand times over.

Im not sure what’s going on in this picture or where it was taken. I do know that within a few hours of this snapshot, I was born in Bloomington, Illinois. It makes me wonder what my parents were doing at this exact moment. Were they getting ready to go to the hospital? Were they happily introducing their newborn baby boy to his older sister, or to his grandparents? I’ll never know for sure, but thanks to Jamie and Hugh I’ll always have this picture to come back to and ponder just what was happening in the world at this precise moment in time, on the day I was born. Thank you Mr. Crawford for keeping this site running and not only sharing the memory of your friend, but giving the world a chance to look back in time and see what else was happening outside of their own lives. Thank you Jamie, you’ll never know how much these photos might help someone on any given day. Rest peacefully my friend.
