Stories about those days.

The stories that people have about Jamie’s photos are a source of amazement.  Some are of the “that’s me and we were doing this” type of stories from Jamie’s friends. Some are the “I never met Jamie but this was taken on my birthday and it means a lot to me. And some are just stunningly moving one of a kind stories.

I specifically looked for this photo as I was born on the 28th of October 1990 and I wanted to see what the mood of this place was like the day I was born ❤️

A baby – perfect! This is the day I was born. My mom was staying with my dad’s parents in northern VA while he started his new job in Florida and found them a house. Ten days later my mom’s mom died. After the funeral, she left for a new house she had never seen in a new state with her brand new baby. She says “I just did what I had to do, ” which I guess is true.

On this day, I was born in Northern Italy to two wonderful parents. My parents and I haven’t been back to Italy in about 20 years. Someday we’ll go back, and when we do, we’ll take a Polaroid.

I too was born on this day, in California. It would have been a week sooner, but I resisted even induced labor, and had to be cut out via cesarean section.

Mine too. Shivani, I am always curious to things that happened on this day. On people born this day. People who died this day. Jamie was years ahead of his time. People do things like this-sort of-all the time, but mostly it’s over them selves. This is 18 years in the life of a man.

The day I was born, and this pic has so much happiness in it. I know I share my day with so many others, and I am so proud of that. This pic just makes me feel like those smiling faces are happy for so many reasons; all the babies being born everywhere, being with people they cared about, the weather, and lid itself…this is a beautiful pic!

Pictures like this reminds me of the song “you learn” by alanis morisette. I don’t know why but I guess it’s the quality of the photo that takes me back to the time it was released. One of the reasons why life is amazing is to be with friends and this is one perfect example.

This is the day I was born. My father emigrated from Sri Lanka to Liverpool having turned down a job in New York. I grew up around the corner from John Lennons house, went to uni in Manchester where I now practice medicine and live with my beautiful wife and 2 kids. The transience of our lives brings sadness, but through time and distance the photo Jamie took that day keeps his memory alive. I hope that thought can bring some comfort to his loved ones and all those who have lost someone xx

3:15am a little girl was born dead. She was blue and unresponsive. Doctors did all they could to try and revive the baby but were unsuccesful. He handed the little baby to her crying mother who had carried her and nurtured and loved for 9 months. Grasping her daughters lifeless body she held her close to her heart and didnt let go. Stroking the babies head she sang a lullaby from her childhood with tears running down her face. She kissed the baby with all the love in the world. Few minutes go by…suddenly a miracle happens. The baby starts to pink up and let out a small cry. Doctors couldnt explain it but the mother new. Her warm body and love gave that baby life. Medicine has nothing over the power of skin on skin contact. Please encourage this to all parents. You might just save a life like my mother did.
